The invention describes a fixed bed downdraft type biomass gasification reactor (1) incorporating a second sector (4) with a conical configuration of divergent lower orientation of refractory material in which the final operation of pyrolysis, oxidation and part of the reduction occurs homogeneously with any variation in gas flow rate. On the other hand and according to the invention, the gasification plant has a bearing platform which is easy to transport and install and on which the gasification reactor (1), a producer gas conditioning system and internal combustion engines (17) fed with producer gas for generating electrical and thermal energy are assembled and controlled in a coordinated manner.
