<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain improvement in image quality of a decoded image by suppressing a prediction error locally existent in a block boundary part in filtering processing in the direction of a time base for realizing time scalability in scalable encoding. <P>SOLUTION: When generating a low-frequency signal by linearly summing up an input signal and a high-frequency signal, a weight coefficient is calculated in accordance with spatial positions of the high-frequency signal divided into blocks in each of the blocks and an addition value of the high-frequency signal in the linear sum is adaptively changed using the weight coefficient. Furthermore, when calculating a spatial weight coefficient, a value of a spatial weight window function is stored in a lookup table beforehand, so that the function value can be calculated by referring to the table. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
