Modulator may comprise multiple various optical compensating structures, at least one of them comprises diffuser. Modulator may contain differing first and second optical compensating structures. Optical compensating structure may be selected from black mask, colour filter, anti-reflecting layer, multiple diffusing elements, grid of microlenses, holographic film and diffraction optical element.
