[Class 146 (iii).] In a reservoir pen of the kind in which the nib when not in use is housed in a sleeve 2 reciprocable on the barrel 1 and provided with a lid 3 connected to a controlling-element co-opetating with an obstruction in order to open or close the lid during reciprocation of the sleeve, the controlling- element consists of a headedrod 4 hinged to the lid and movable in a guide 6 containing the obstruction. The head may be formed rigid and the obstruction resilient as by a tongue or bridge pressed inwards from the material of the tubular guide 6, or alternatively, the obstruction may be rigid as by the formation of a waist portion in the tube, and the head formed of spring strips on the end of the rod 4.</p> |
