<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection and sensing system for change in an extrinsic factor capable of grasping environmental change in an article conveniently through the use of a tag. <P>SOLUTION: The system is provided with a noncontact IC tag having a resonance circuit with its resonance frequency set to change due to the change in the extrinsic factor and an IC chip connected to the resonance circuit, and a detector for sensing the output level of the tag within a predetermined frequency range including a predetermined resonance frequency of the IC tag at the occurrence of predetermined change in the extrinsic factor.
