A unit heater or cooler for air or other gas comprises a centrifugal cross-flow or axial flow fan having a heat exchanger 5 arranged concentrically within the fan rotor. The heat exchanger 5 consists of a finned tube, as shown, or an inner duct having an outer finned return duct, and may be heated by water or by gas or oil burners. The bearings for the fan rotor may be formed or carried by the heat exchanger 5. The casing of the fan may form a heat exchange surface. The unit may supply air to the plenum chamber of a central heating installation. |
