[Also in Division B2] Plastic films entering a sterile enclosure are cleaned in a device which comprises a cleansing chamber 2 having entry means 22, 23 near its base and exit means 24 at its upper end, and guide means for directing the films vertically through a substantially vertical path through the chamber, said entry and exit means including sealing means 7 for reducing interchange between environments inside and outside the chamber. The sealing means may comprise resilient flaps urged against the film surfaces, and the film may be sprayed with germicidal products from nozzles 36, 37 and 38, and optionally irradiated with ultra-violet light in the sterile enclosure 3. |
