According to one embodiment, a radio has a memory for the storage of a number of records. Each record has a number of operating parameters that are used by a controller subsystem to control the radio's operation. The controller subsystem is operable to communicate with a first communication device using a first electro-magnetic signal while communicating with a second communication device using a second electromagnetic signal configured according to one of the records. The first electro-magnetic signal uses a portion of the information transfer capacity of the radio and is devoid of a counter-intelligence signal. The second electro-magnetic signal comprises a counter-intelligence signal that is operable to eavesdrop or disrupt communication of the second communication device.
