PURPOSE: A string winding device having a prominence removal function is provided to cut out a prominence from string and then wind up the string on a winding roll. CONSTITUTION: A string winding unit winds string(200) on a winding roll. A winding roll feed part(20) supplies the winding rolls to the string winding unit one by one. A drive member(11) rotates in a specific direction by a motor(11a). A driven member(12) presses the winding roll against the drive member. A sensing member(40) consecutively senses the width of the string supplied to the string winding unit in order to sense prominences intermittently existing on the string. A cutting member(50) cuts out the detected prominences.
