Search systems and methods incorporate user judgment information regarding various pages or sites. This information may include judgments from the querying user as well as from other users selected by the querying user as members of his or her "trust network." When a query is received from a user, the list of hits related to the query can be modified based on a user judgment previously provided by the user as well as other user judgments previously provided by members of a trust network defined by the querying user. The user can construct a trust network from social network data representing the user's relationships to other users.
