The invention relates to a machine-tool for machining a workpiece by means of a relative movement between the workpiece and at least one tool. Said machine-tool comprises a carrier arranged on a machine frame and provided with a first receiving element, and a compound rest system arranged on the machine frame and provided with a second receiving element, said elements being mobile in relation to each other by means of the compound rest system. The compound rest system comprises a first carriage element supported on the machine frame and at least one guiding element comprises sliding guide surfaces. The compound rest system comprises a second carriage element that is guided on the sliding guide surfaces, with sliding support surfaces, in a supported manner, and carries the second receiving element. Said machine-tool also comprises a drive device for moving and fixing the second carriage element in relation to the first carriage element. The aim of the invention is to improve said machine-tool in terms of the quality of the guiding. To this end, the second carriage element comprises a base body and supporting wings extending therefrom, said wings comprising form-fitting receiving elements for the sliding blocks carrying the sliding support surfaces. Furthermore, the base body and the supporting wings hold all of the sliding support surfaces in relation to the guide surfaces in a pre-stressed manner. |
