FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improved method of obtaining silodosin of formula: (3). Method involves mixing a new compound 3-{7-cyano-5-[(2R)-2-({2-[2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)phenoxy]ethyl}amino]propyl]-2,3-dihydro-1H-indol-1-yl}propylbenzoate with oxalic acid to obtain a corresponding oxalate with subsequent hydrolysis thereof, resulting in formation of a new compound 1-(3-hydroxypropyl)-5-[(2R)-2-({2-[2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)phenoxy]ethyl}amino]propyl]-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole-7-carbonitrile and hydrolysis thereof to obtain the target compound.
