1350476 Electro-photographic plate XEROX CORP 17 May 1971 [18 May 1970] 15325/71 Heading G2C An electro-photographic plate comprises a photo-conductive layer overlaid with an organic polymer coating comprising 16-71% of a moistureinsensitive film-forming organic-solvent-soluble resin, 16-71% of a film-forming polyester resin and 5-35% of a polyurethane resin. The photoconductive layer is preferably an alloy of Se with Te or As and optionally chlorine and is formed on an aluminium support. In an embodiment, an organic solvent containing the polyester, a highly cross-linked polyurethane and copoly acrylonitrile-vinylidene chloride is used to form an overcoat on the photo-conductive layer. The overcoat is said to contain spheres of polyurethane which conduct charge through the overcoat. Other materials for the moisture insensitive resin may be polymers or copolymers of vinyl chloride, vinyl fluoride, isobutylene or vinylidene chloride.
