<p>Fabrication of G.R.P. tanks, partic. for storage of heavy fuel oil, by the assembly of parts with overlapping edges, with adhesive, comprises (a) placing one part with an upwardly turned edge in an external mould of almost the same shape up to the level of this edge, (b) an internal mould with a circumference which can be varied at least in the vicinity of the above mentioned edge is placed within the mould-shaped part, the upturned edge engaging an upper part of the tank provided with a downwardly directed edge, (c) covering the overlapping surfaces of these edges which are to be bonded with a hardening adhesive, (d) increasing the circumference of the internal mould so that it is pressed against the edge of the adjacent part to place it correctly in position and stretch is slightly so that during hardening the adhesive is under slight pressure and (e) withdrawing the internal mould through an opening in thetank.</p> |
