PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for driving the same are provided to the size of a distorted optical sensed data by correcting an optical data sensed by a photo sensor according to an image data supplied to a data line. CONSTITUTION: In a liquid crystal display device and a method for driving the same, a plurality of pixel cells(PxL) receives an image from a plurality of data lines and displays the image. A plurality of photo sensors(PS) supplies a photo sensing signal to a plurality of readout lines according to radiation intensity from the outside. A readout integrated circuit generates photo sensed data by converting the optical signal from the readout line. A data correction unit modulates optical sensing data from the readout integrated circuit to the readout line according to the image data supplied to the adjacent data line.
