PURPOSE: A security system and a method thereof are provided to reduce costs by using a general terminal and a security unit where equipments such as various cameras are integrated. CONSTITUTION: A photoelectric conversion camera(10) acquires an image by continuously photographing a monitoring space. An infrared camera(20) acquires a thermal image by photographing the monitoring space through infrared rays. If a motion is detected in the monitoring space, a unit controller(60) drives the infrared camera in order to acquire the thermal image. If a monitoring object is detected from the temperature distribution of the acquired thermal image, the unit controller acquires a still image from the photoelectric conversion camera and transmits the still image to the terminal of a pre-inputted receiver.
