PURPOSE: A bad pixel correction method is provided to perform bad pixel correction when bad pixel correction through an existing method is impossible according as two bad pixels are present in a predetermined location. CONSTITUTION: First and second field arrays are generated(S301). The first field array is the group of neighboring pixels of the same color as a bad pixel. The second field array is a group of pixels which does not belong to the first field array as being neighboring pixels of the same color as the bad pixel. First and second average values of the pixel values of pixels belonging to the first and second field arrays are calculated(S303). First and second standard deviations for the first and second average values are calculated(S305). If the first standard deviation is smaller than the second standard deviation, the pixel value of the bad pixel is substituted with the first average value(S309). If not so, the pixel value of the bad pixel is substituted with the second average value(S311).
