PURPOSE: A pan/tilter and a white balance control method thereof are provided to control a white balance operation and a zoom operation based on a white balance control value and a zoom control value stored in the pan/tilter, thereby preventing an error of the white balance operation of a monitoring camera during a preset operation. CONSTITUTION: If a preset mode is set, a pan/filter connected to a monitoring camera searches preset information stored in a memory(S12). The pan/filter reads pan, tilt, zoom, and white balance control values(S13). Pan and tilt operations corresponding to the pan and tilt control values are performed. The monitoring camera receives the zoom and white balance control values, and controls zoom and white balance operations(S16). The preset information is downloaded in a non-volatile memory within the pan/filter through an interface with a DVR(Digital Video Recorder).
