APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ESTIMATING DOPPLER FREQUENCY IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A Doppler frequency presumption method and an apparatus thereof in a mobile communications terminal in the channel estimation error are provided to accurately presume the speed of the terminal by presuming the maximum Doppler frequency in the channel estimation error. CONSTITUTION: A Doppler frequency estimator(204) calculates the automatic interval correlation from a channel estimation tap having maximum power over the automatic correlation. The Doppler frequency estimator divides the auto correlation of interval over two samples to the automatic correlation of one sample space. The Doppler frequency estimator uses the system for division result and presumes the maximum Doppler frequency.
