The cover (1) has inflatable compartments (2, 3) arranged in a rectangular frame and comprising vents (6, 7) that are connected to a drain pipe. Handles (9) are attached to an outer side of the compartments. The vents are closed by a zipper(RTM: side fastener) or a Velcro(RTM: hook and loop fastener), where the compartments comprise air outlet openings. Reinforcements e.g. filled sandbag, are arranged near the vents, where the cover is made from a waterproof or water-resistant material e.g. plastic or canvas. An independent claim is also included for a method for covering an outfield with a rain cover.
