PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for driving the same is provided to improve image quality by use an CSF(Contrast Sensitivity Function) filter suitable for a human vision property. CONSTITUTION: In a liquid crystal display device and a method for driving the same, a frequency converter(301) converts an original image data of one frame into frequency data. A filter [filter](302) filters frequency data to the CSF(Contrast Sensitivity Function) mode. A data compensator(303) subtracts filtered data from frequency data and generates compensated data.
