A security camera assembly has a bracket, a housing and a camera. The bracket includes a top plate having a front end and a back end, a front leg extending from the front end of the top plate in a first direction generally perpendicular to the top plate, and a back leg extending from the back end of the top plate generally in the first direction. A housing is connected to the front leg of the bracket, the housing and the front leg of the bracket defining therebetween a camera receiving space. A camera is disposed in the camera receiving space. A method for mounting the securit y camera assembly is also disclosed.
