<p>Shoes, esp. sandals, in which the edges of the upper are linked by a perforated piece of material anchored within an injection-moulded sole. Pref. the sole is an expanded moulding with an integral wear-resistant insert. Uses moulding to reproduce a rigid 'medically approved' or 'Swedish' profile more rapidly than by machining wood. The upper is securely anchored in a sole moulded of e.g. expanded polystyrene containing a wood flour filler.</p> |
