PURPOSE: A self travel engine carriage and a transportation method for materials of a power electric transmission line using the same are provided to implement management of the carriage by lowering the carriage. CONSTITUTION: A carrier unit(20) moves along a main rope(40). A supporter(30) is installed and connected beneath the carrier unit. A carriage(10) is located beneath the supporter, and includes a main body(11), left/right bypass rollers(15,16), an engine(12) installed in the inner lower side of the main body, a hydraulic unit(13), and a drum(14). One end of a lifting wire(70) is connected to the drum of the carriage and the other is fixed to the left end of the main body.
