The method involves coding a sequence of images into a coded image data stream conformed to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14496-10or International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 14496-10coding standard. Auxiliary transcoding aid data e.g. coding parameters such as I, P or B types of image, are coded into a supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message of the coded image data stream. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a coded image data stream transcoding method (2) a transcoding device comprising a decoding unit.
