PURPOSE: A side lighting type backlighting unit is provided to leading lights to be outputted from the light source by forming the prism pattern of the embossment of the asymmetric structure in the horizontal direction from the light source. CONSTITUTION: An embossed prism pattern(122) of the asymmetric structure is formed at the light source(140) in the lower surface of the light guide plate(120). The prism pattern induces the ight incident from the light source or reflected from a reflecting plate(110) to emit to the front side. In the upper surface of the light guide plate, a prism pattern(124) is formed at the light source and the vertical direction. The prism pattern concentrates the light from the light source. A functional sheet(130) improves the luminance of the LCM(Liquid Crystal Module) by the polarized light and recycling of the light coming from the light guide plate in the upper side of the light guide plate. |
