APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TIMER SETUP IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for timer setup in a mobile communication system are provided to restart a timer only when separated PDUs are received, thereby removing a problem that the PDUs can not be transmitted to an upper layer and buffered. CONSTITUTION: Receivers(810,820,830) receive a signal that a transmitter transmits. A timer manager(815) checks whether the first entity receives packets that the receivers. The timer manager checks whether the first field values of the packets correspond to the first condition. If the first field values correspond to the first condition, the timer manager drives the first timer again.
