<p>A horizontal vessel is used to effect chemical reactions between a predominantly liquid phase and a gaseous phase. The vessel contains a horizontal agitator in the lower part and fixed impact plates in the upper part. The agitator sprays the small quantity of liquid continuously into the gas and produces sufficient stirring effect to maintain a dispersion, e.g., solid/liquid or liquid/liquid.</p> |
