<p>Thermal crazing and local picture distortions of a photo cathode are prevented by an intermediate thermal expansion matching and buffer layer between the esp. aluminium carrier and the phosphor esp. CsI-Na coating on which the photo cathode material is deposited. This inter layer, esp. of porous CsI, is evaporated on to the carrier in vacuo and has a thermal coeff. of expansion between those of the carrier and the main phosphor.</p> |
