<p>Suspension polymerisation reaction mixture is produced from vinyl halide monomer and opt. appropriate comonomer, free radical-forming initiator, suspension aid, water and mineral oil with b.p. >200 degrees C. This is then heated to effect polymerisation. Mineral oil, which imparts improved plasticiser absorption to the resin formed is a cheap additive and its use does not necessitate additional process stages.</p> |
