<p>Vulcanisable compn. comprises a silicone rubber (I) in which are incorporated a reinforcing amount of silica filler and 5-20 p.b.w. per 100 p.b.wt. of (I) of a siloxane of mean formula:- compn. pref. contains a catalytic amount of a peroxide vulcanising agent. (I) is specif. a methyl-vinyl-silicone or methylphenyl-vinyl-silicone rubber. Compns. which may be converted to siloxane elastomers on heating, have good handling properties and do not harden prematurely.</p> |
