<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel of high-definition, high-luminance display performance and low power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A manufacturing method is disclosed for the plasma display panel (PDP) having a front plate with a dielectric layer formed to cover a display electrode formed on a base, and a protective layer formed on the dielectric layer, the plasma display panel having a back plate with an address electrode formed in a direction perpendicular to the display electrode, and a barrier rib provided to define the discharge space. The protective layer of the front plate is formed by causing a plurality of crystal particles made of a metal oxide to adhere onto a bed film formed by vapor deposition on the dielectric layer. An inspection process A6 for detecting defects in the layer of the crystal particles after causing the crystal particles to adhere on to the bed film is performed. A repair process A7 for temporarily removing the crystal particles in a certain area including the defects, and causing crystal particles to newly adhere to the area where the particles have been removed is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
