<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for animal individual identification, capable of surely identifying animal individuals moving intricately and capable of verifying to be surely identified. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The system comprises a reader 1 of RFID (individual identification device) 11 attached with an identification mark, an imaging device 2 capable of individually tracing movement of a plurality of pigs 12 and a processing device 3 for individually relating the imaged pig to the read identification mark. The reader 1 and the imaging device 2 are set at a pigsty (closed space) 4. The RFID 11 attached with a different identification mark is buried in the ear part of each pig 12.
