PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal metal fixture and a wire with a terminal which have improved cold-heat cycle characteristics and flexing resistance. SOLUTION: The bearing surface 27 of a wire barrel 16 that bears a wire 11 has a plurality of recesses 18, in an area closer to an end of the wire 11 press-fit to the wire barrel 16, the recesss, which are arranged in rows, at intervals in a first direction crossing the extending direction of the wire 11 at an angle of 85° or larger to 95° or smaller, and has a plurality of grooves 30 extending in a first direction, in an area opposite to the end of the wire 11, wherein the recesses and grooves are formed on the wire barrel 16, prior to being press-fit to the wire. Ridges 32 are formed at the boundaries between the side faces 31 of each groove 30 and the bearing surface 27 of the wire barrel 16. The pitch P1, between adjacent grooves 30 among the plurality of grooves 30, is set to 0.3 mm or larger to 0.8 mm or smaller. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
