PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plane spiral type fluorescent lamp capable of improving luminous efficiency. SOLUTION: A support member 24 which connects both ends 22b of an arc tube 22 has a detour part 25 to go around the tube central part 22a being a coldest spot portion, so that the support member 24 connecting both ends 22b of the arc tube 22 which generate heat and the coldest spot (22a) do not contact. Thereby, the heat of the ends 22b of the arc tube 22 is not transmitted to the coldest spot (22a) through the support member 24, and thus, luminous efficiency is improved by suppressing temperature rise of the coldest spot (22a).
