<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image processing apparatus capable of changing the image quality of each image to be displayed on a display screen for displaying a plurality of images according to the displayed position, and efficiently acquiring and displaying each image data of the plurality of images, and to provide the image processing method, the computer program, and the information recording medium. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes a position sorting means, a quality determining means, a code requesting means, and a code acquisition means. The position sorting means classifies a display position for each decoded image into a first display position group and a second display position group, when a plurality of decoded images are displayed on one display screen. As for the first display position group and the second display position group, the quality determining means determines the image quality of mutually different decoded images. As for a decoded image associated with each of the display positions, the code requesting means requests an image code corresponding to the image quality determined by the quality determining means to a server which stores each of image codes corresponding to a plurality of image qualities.
