<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute multiple transmission of information by preventing signals from colliding with each other and securing required minimum identification gain even when the number of handsets is multiple in a communication system provided with a base unit, a plurality of repeaters and the plurality of handsets, and the respective repeaters transmit information at the same time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This data communication system includes a synchronization signal generation means generating a beacon signal BC1 for establishing synchronization between a base unit and a repeater, and a beacon signal BC2 for establishing synchronization between the repeater and each handset. The synchronization signal generation means subjects the beacon signals BC2 for the number of repeaters to 4-sect code division multiplexing, and generates them by 16-sect frequency division multiplexing on a code basis. A transmission code of the final beacon signal BC2 is generated by doubly multiplexing an upper M-sequence code in a lower M-sequence code, and detected by using a double PN filter configuration in carrying out a multiple separation process.
