PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved technique not producing the problem that a high-pressure steam sterilizer, constituted so that a chamber is operated according to a program, in which a preheating process is incorporated, by a drying heater before a sterilization process, to prevent dewing water from being produced on the wall of the chamber by high-temperature steam produced in the sterilization process, causes the time from the start of operation to the completion thereof to become long since this preheating process is performed at every operation before the sterilization process, the preheating process is performed even in the state where the inside of the chamber is warm by once performing the operation of sterilization treatment. SOLUTION: An arbitrarily operable preparation button is provided and turned ON before a start key for starting sterilization treatment operation is turned ON to set a selective preheating mode for preheating the wall of chamber.
