PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lower mattress apparatus capable of surely removing moisture and dust from an elastic member laminated on a spring unit. SOLUTION: The mattress apparatus includes: the spring unit 7; a resilient member 15 formed of an air permeable material and provided on the upper and lower surfaces of the spring unit; an exterior body 17 provided with a gusset cloth 18 formed of a material of an air permeable resistance higher than the resilient member and covering the outer peripheral surface of the spring unit and a pair of upper and lower end cloths 19 formed of the material of the air permeable resistance lower than the gusset cloth and covering the resilient member, for which the peripheral edge part of the end cloths is sewn to the upper and lower ends of the gusset cloth; and a cleaner 24 detachably connected to a connection part 22 formed on the gusset cloth of the exterior body, for making suction force act on the internal space of the spring unit covered with the exterior body and external air is sucked from the pair of upper and lower end cloths through the resilient member and discharging it.
