<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer particle dispersion liquid which can achieve the arrangement of spacer particles on a substrate continuously and stably by using an inkjet device and which can produce a liquid crystal display device having superior display quality, and to provide the liquid crystal display device configured by using the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The spacer particle dispersion liquid is used for arranging the spacer particles on any position of a substrate by using the inkjet device, and comprises spacer particles and a solvent, wherein the spacer particles comprises a copolymer formed by polymerizing: a polymerizable monomer that has a 1-10C alkyl group or cycloalkyl group at least on a surface of inorganic fine particles or organic fine particles; a polymerizable monomer that contains a hydrophilic functional group; and a monomer mixture that contains other polymerizable monomers. The composition ratio derived from the polymerizable monomer having the 1-10C alkyl group or cycloalkyl group to the copolymer provided on the surface of the spacer particles is 1 to 10 wt.%; the composition ratio derived from the polymerizable monomer having the hydrophilic functional group to the copolymer provided on the surface of the spacer particles is 30 to 99 wt.%; and the composition ratio derived from the other polymerizable monomers to the copolymer provided on the surface of the spacer particles is 0 to 69 wt.%.
