<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a post-installable latch unit for a cylinder lock allowing an easy conversion of a clamp plate type cylinder lock into a latch type cylinder lock. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A latch body 6 stored in a latch storing section 3 of a unit case 1 and a cam body 11 stored in an opening 2 in the front face side of the unit case 1 are assembled by screwing a bolt 18 in a screw hole 5 in a side wall section 4 of the unit case 1 through a bolt insertion hole 17 in a rear plate section 14 of a bracket plate 13. The bracket plate 13 is fastened and fixed to a door 27 by setting a front plate 16 in contact with the rear face of the door 27 as an attaching object and screwing a nut 29 into a lock body 25 of the cylinder lock 21 inserted in an installation hole 26 in the front plate 16. A main shaft section 19 of the cam body 11 is inserted in a bearing hole 20 in the rear plate 14 of the bracket 13, and a drive shaft section 23 of the rotor 22 of the cylinder lock 21 is relatively unturnably inserted in an interlock accepting hole 24 in the main shaft section 19.
