<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously encrypt data corresponding to a plurality of Ranges for which corresponding encryption keys are different, even if a logic block address (LBA) corresponding to a read/write request is spread over different Ranges. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A key exchange circuit 115, in which a key body is recorded on a magnetic disk 2 beforehand and which is constituted of hardware, updates a key, that an encryption circuit 111 includes, while using the key body recorded on the magnetic disk 2, thereby exchanging the key to be used for encryption processing of data of the encryption circuit 111.
