PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emission device excellent in light emission characteristics, and to provide a method for manufacturing of the light emission device. SOLUTION: The distance between either the outer peripheral end portion of a hole injection layer 8b or the outer peripheral end portion of a bank 13 covered with the hole injection layer 8b and the outer peripheral end portion of a light emitting region A is set at 200μm or less so as to cause each pixel P forming the light emitting region A of an EL panel 1 (100) to emit light satisfactorily to prevent dark areas from occurring in the light emitting region A.
