The device (1) has a doctor blade (6) extending transverse to surfaces (3) to be processed, where the doctor blade has sensors (7) for indirect detection of temperature of the doctor blade. The sensors are provided and extended parallel to each other. The sensors are arranged at an upper side and/or at a lower side of the doctor blade. The sensors are selected from one of a group consisting of thermistor or positive temperature coefficient (PTC) resistor, integrated semiconductor temperature sensors, thermocouples and pyroelectric or fiber-optic temperature sensors.
