The walking stick has a shank (10) made of a compound structure, which has a core element (12), a cover element (14) and another cover element (16) opposite to the former cover element. The core element contains closed cellular expanded polystyrene. The cover elements are made of a semi-rigid material with flexible characteristics and are fastened with the core element. A base contact element is arranged at the shank in form of a wheel (20).
