A SYSTEM FOR MONITORING MARINE VESSELS

A system is provided for monitoring a marine vessel in which the system comprises a plurality of sensors, a telemetry unit and a transceiver. Each of the plurality of sensors monitors one of a component and a system onboard the marine vessel. The telemetry unit receives and converts data outputs from the plurality of sensors into telemetry signals in which each of the data outputs is representative of a state of the one of the component and the system monitored by the each of the plurality of sensors. The transceiver is adapted for transmitting the telemetry signals using one of a plurality of communication modes to a computing device at a remote location. The computing device then processes the telemetry signals to obtain the data contained therein, the obtained data being displayable by the computing device.
