摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transreflective type LCD capable of reducing a visual difference between a transmissive mode and a reflective mode. <P>SOLUTION: The transreflective type LCD comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal. The first substrate includes: a transparent substrate having a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and a plurality of side surfaces; a thin film transistor formed on the first surface; a transparent pixel electrode having a first area to which a power voltage outputted from the thin film transistor is applied; a dielectric layer formed between the pixel electrode and the first surface; and an image maintaining reflection electrode having a second area which is formed between the dielectric layer and the first surface and reflects a part of light emitted from the first surface toward the second surface and functions as a lower electrode of an image maintaining capacitor. The second substrate faces the first surface of the first substrate and has a color pixel common electrode formed in a position facing the pixel electrode. The liquid crystal is interposed between the first and second substrates.
