<p>Extruded strip comprising a vulcanisable elastomer, and opt. also some nonvulcanisable polymer and a textile core thread, incorporating encapsulated crosslinking agents which are not released until heated, pref. after initial installation. Esp. for fixing glass, (carwindscreens) into metal frames, esp. if the glass borders have integral heating elements. May incorporate 'primers' to improve adhesion to glass. Assures an adequate shelf life until a prescribed stoving or local heat treatment after installation. Combines the installation advantages of a soft mastic with the security of a vulcanised seal.</p> |
