PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of not only securing electrification stability over a long term when using a plurality of electrifying devices but also achieving high-speed processing, environmental stability and the prolongation of a service life. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an upstream side electrifying device 22a and a downstream side electrifying device 22b arranged in a moving direction of a photoreceptor drum 18 and electrifying the photoreceptor drum 18, and a power supply device 24 applying DC+AC voltages to the respective electrifying devices 22a and 22b. The power supply device 24 includes a current detection device for detecting a current amount in a DC direction, and decides an AC voltage value for electrifying application based on the detected current amount.
