PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic device capable of maintaining stable and preferable images for a long period of time even when a DC contact charging system is employed. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic device includes an electrophotographic photoreceptor having an intermediate layer and a photosensitive layer in this order on a conductive support and employs a contact charging system including at least a roller type charging member. In the electrophotographic device, the charging member is a charging means to charge the photoreceptor by applying a voltage consisting of an only direct current voltage; and the intermediate layer of the photoreceptor to be in contact with the charging means has the maximum film thickness of 25 to 50μm, has a film thickness larger in a part from the center of the charging member to within±5 mm distance along the axial direction than a film thickness in a part from the end part of the charging member to 5 mm inside the end part, with the difference of not less than 5μm, and has the minimum film thickness of not less than 15μm in the contact part with the charging member.
